Rafael Santos holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Aveiro. During his undergraduate studies, he had the opportunity to be involved with Professor Margarida Fardilha's research group on a project focused on potential biomarkers for male infertility. He is currently completing his Master’s in Molecular Biomedicine at the University of Aveiro, conducting his thesis under the supervision of Professor Joana Santiago. His work evaluates the penetrative ability of second-generation bioportides in bovine sperm, as well as sperm motility and viability, with relevance for the development of new male contraceptives.
