As part of her research at iBiMED – Institute of Biomedicine, University of Aveiro, Professor Margarida Fardilha integrates the multidisciplinary team of Edu4HEALTH (2025–2028), a new project funded by FEDER through COMPETE 2030.
Edu4HEALTH builds on the success of previous initiatives, EduPARK (2016–2019) and EduCITY (2022–2025), and aims to promote health and well-being in schools through the use of augmented reality mobile games and gamification strategies. The project targets lower secondary school students, one of the most vulnerable groups in this area.
Led by Lúcia Pombo (CIDTFF), Edu4HEALTH brings together researchers from six research units of the University of Aveiro, along with external partners. Within this team, Margarida Fardilha plays a key role by contributing her expertise in biomedical sciences, reinforcing the bridge between health research and innovative educational approaches.
Through her participation in Edu4HEALTH, Margarida Fardilha strengthens iBiMED’s and the University of Aveiro’s commitment to advancing health promotion and well-being among young people.
