Magda Henriques
PhD Student
About
Magda Henriques holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (2014) and a master’s degree in Biochemistry - Biomolecular Methods (2016), both from the University of Aveiro (Aveiro, Portugal). Her master thesis entitled “Curcumin and a new ruthenium (II)curcumin complex: characterization and evaluation of its biological potential” developed under the supervision of Doctor Susana Braga and Professor Maria Amparo Faustino in collaboration with Professor Margarida Fardilha, resulted in 2 published papers and poster communications. Magda had a research fellow position in the project “RUNNING away from prostate cancer: WALKING through the molecular basis of physical activity” at Fardilha’s Lab. She also collaborated in several works in progress at Fardilha’s Lab, which resulted in 1 published paper and several poster communications. Currently, Magda is developing her PhD research at the Institute of Biomedicine - iBiMED/University of Aveiro (Aveiro, Portugal), under supervision of Professor Margarida Fardilha and under co-supervision of Professor Susana Loureiro (CESAM, University of Aveiro) and Professor Teresa Herdeiro (iBiMED, University of Aveiro). The project aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying the lifestyle-associated decline in human fertility, which already resulted in 1 published book chapter, several poster communications, 1 oral communication, 1 published paper and 3 in preparation.
